Bermudez for Assembly 2012

Welcome and Thank You for Visiting.

I’m running for State Assembly because it’s time to make California work again.  As Norwalk City Councilman and Norwalk-La Mirada School Board member I have a proven track record of tackling big problems that others ignore, offering bold ideas and delivering real results.

That is why when I was on the Norwalk City Council I knew that to reduce crime in our streets we needed to take action.  We put patrol cars in local neighborhoods and saw an immediate reduction in crime.  While on the Norwalk-La Mirada School Board we boldly cut overhead and put those resources directly into the classroom, which has earned me the support of local teachers. As an Assemblymember I introduced legislation that helped small businesses, changed the way California deals with “failing schools”, and strengthened areas of public safety.

As a law enforcement officer, I have served my community for nearly 30 years which is why I earned the support of Association for Los Angeles Deputy Sheriff’s and the Los Angeles County Paramedic and  Firefighters Local 1014.

I believe we must invest in job training for California’s emerging green jobs economy.  We also need government to become a partner with small business and create jobs rather than drive jobs out of state.  And we need to do all this with balanced budgets and sound fiscal policies that will protect taxpayer dollars. That’s why I am running for State Assembly.

I feel so fortunate to have such an outstanding community standing with me. I would appreciate your consideration.
